Only 31 favorites? really? Can't even believe it. However, this is amazing! I love all of the detail in it and the style you used for shading. All of the lines make everything have a darker aura and a bit less organic, which is kind of more allusive to death. I do not know if you did it on purpose but it is mindblowing. I also like how you added an exaggerated amout of wires everywhere, I have always found those wires to be visual contamination in real life, and they add a lot of chaos in this drawing. Makes me think of decadence. Again, not sure if you did that on purpose or if you are just naturally gifted for composition and atmosphere.

OK I'll just shut up now and say it is amazing.

aww a full thoughtful comment! n_n thanks so much.

Yes, the power lines are supposed to represent... well...... power! :P People using others for power and consumption rather then love, and me trying to visualize/symbolize the way it makes me feel sick and, as you say, the sheer decadence.. the out-of-hand feeding and greed and the way it mounts and causes power overloads and downed wires and violence.

I need to hear your thoughts because really I don't even know if people notice these things. I know I put stuff like the power lines in there to be symbolic, but I don't know if people commonly, consciously even take note of the fact? :) Now I know. :)

I must admit though, I always had a thing for power lines. Not these wooden city ones, but the huge steel pylons that are used to cross country. When I would go camping as a little kid and out on trails, I would cross over the huge cleared areas where those would cut through the forest. It was mystifying to me to just stand there at night listening to the buzz in the silence of the night and feeling the awe and wonder at the size of them. :)

That's a great experience to share! I remember there used to be an old steel pylon near home when I was a child and I liked to imagine how things looked from the top of it. It was old and no longer used, I think it was built before my area turned into a city so it was like some "ruin".

Great to hear you do add symbols in art. Sometimes I don't know if I'm looking like a fool when I notice things like that in drawings and comment about them. :P I begin to wonder if I just talk too much!
