Endless Skies by BenGoodspeed Endless Skies by BenGoodspeed
so I ripped off VNV for the title
SO SUE ME
I also call it "hug"

I know that if I saw this as someone else, but still with my life, I would probably be kind of dismissive, thinking it's some sort of romantic thing about a specific person or whatever. I hope people don't get the wrong impression. It's really the joining of two androgynous individuals, it's about the concept of existential loneliness, and the shared experience of it, by all people

Fascinating and unusual

painting could be really personal. an entire story, sometimes still in its unsettling presence, coincides. I get it, so for lack of better words/phrases...sweet!

It reminds me two sides of a mask.

Love the butterfly - such a vulnerable bit among the dark chaos.

I like the idea of androgynous beings. I strongly feel love comes in ALL forms, whether it be man and woman, man and man, woman and woman, or even woman and beast (Beauty and the Beast does a good job of conveying that relationship). And I noticed the butterflies right off.

Androgyny is more for the point of removing sex from the picture, as it makes things more superficial. Compassion and relating, or universal connection come in all forms, but even here I have to wonder where the line is drawn, can I have a universal connection with a plant? Do they have hopes and dreams? If so, why not (or why) a rock? When we go to romantic love, I would be hard pressed to fall in love with a plant, or animal. I don't know why that is... Perhaps something about the level of consciousness. Not to mention evolutionary directive. (and let's not forget I would have to question the consent involved in that, and what kind of love is love when the partner doesn't even know what's going on, as I can only imagine an animal wouldn't) An animal from another planet, ie an intelligent humonoid alien, I suppose that could technically be a different story. And perhaps this all explains why I have such an incredibly hard time feeling romantic love for people, I rarely feel people are on the same mental wavelength as me.
